The Exhibition “Two Different Views” by Jacky Hosford, December 1st to 24th
There are so many concepts of what represents art it is often hard to choose a preference. I hoped to present several views on art with well known media such as oil, acrylic and ink in different formats, such as the fun of an abstract in acrylics and realism in oils. Both, for me, provide different reactions, impressions and moods.
I find abstracts pure fun to create, and for me, often they are all about enjoying colour and intricacies that make my mind want to look for connections and hidden details. They are a more unstructured way of expression.
I find realism is more inclined to create a mood, such as the solitude of a hidden beach, cliffs and coves or where sunlight is breaking through trees and hidden places, evocative of the West Coast’s seasons and landscapes.
On the technical side, I also like to mix up the challenges of the ink of a pen, oil and acrylic paints as they all individually create their own sets of problems and benefits
Reception December 2nd, 2 to 5pm, everyone is invited!
