The Consulate General of India, Vancouver is hosting ‘Namaste Canada 2019’ a day-long cultural event, in cooperation with over 25 Indo-Canadian Associations and Cultural Societies.
The objective of this annual event is to celebrate India’s rich and vibrant cultural heritage to further strengthen the flourishing ties between India and Canada, and to present to our local community the rich cultural sights and sounds of India, presented by resident Indian Diaspora on a voluntary basis for the 4th successive year!
This exciting event will begin with an impressive Opening Ceremony.
This magnificent event will feature a very wide spectrum of classical and folk dances from different states of India, specific to different local festivals, auspicious occasions and glorious seasons, with dancers in their unique, colorful traditional costumes and ornaments, dancing to the rhythms of their vibrant local music.
These various dances depict folklore, stories and unique dance style forms that have joyful and vigorous, elegant and graceful hand and body movements and footwork that will mesmerize the audience!
The evening also features Indian classical music which is highly acclaimed worldwide!
