This exhibition occurs in conjunction with a workshop in the Massey artist studios, and showcases six artists who share a similar process in creating mixed media art. They work on canvas and cradled panels using paper, paint, and other materials. The artists met at a workshop where they discovered new methods of working with discarded paper and paint, and since then, each artist explored the process independently to develop their own unique style and aesthetic.
These artworks are created through layering, collage, mark making, sanding, and other techniques, resulting in pieces with a sense of history and mystery.
The exhibition displays new and recent works that demonstrate the varied outcomes achievable from a shared approach.
