Canada’s Premiere Indian Classical Music and Dance event, the 8th Annual Mushtari Begum Festival of Indian Classical Music and Dance returns to the Massey Theatre!
Included in this magical evening are a scintillating Carnatic music duet by inernationally touring artists, the Indian Gold Medal award winning Violinist Kaushik Sivaramakrishnan and the dynamic Abhishek Iyer on Mridangam.
Another amazing collaboration includes two renowned Kathak dancers and Kathak Queens of Canada, Amika Kushwaha and Prajakta Potnis Trehan, who will treat us to a Kathak solo jugalbandhi and for the first time are accompanied by two Tabla players, the charismatic Ustad Amarjeet Singh and Cassius Khan, and will be supported by the indelible Dil Ruba Maestro Baljit Singh, Kaushik Sivaramakrishnan and Abhishek Iyer.
The Ghazal/Tabla Wizard Cassius Khan will also present his trademark performance alongside Amika Kushwaha’s sonorous Harmonium, Dr Disha Mehta and La Vika on Taanmandal and Swarmandal.
